Re: DREAM 3 Results
Alvarez vs Hansen lived up to the hype....just a great fight....Alvarez's standup was crisp, dropping hansen early but Hellboy made a strong comeback in the second round with those sub attempts..... one of the better fights i've seen this year.

Re: DREAM 3 Results
Damn, I'm glad we didn't make official picks -- I got slaughtered -- never thought Uno would win, picked Hansen over Alvarez, thought Jung would pick up his first W, thought Diaz would be too exhausted to win...

Re: DREAM 3 Results
I went 5-3, kinda mediocre. I got Alvarez over Hansen.......lost the Uno, Jung, an Shoji fights....I was hoping Jung would come through since he wasn't facing a top shelf guy.....

Re: DREAM 3 Results
Nate, nate, nate...

That was a really solid night of fights.  As long as the rest of the orgs dont have exclusitivity, I'll take the field over the UFC any day.

Re: DREAM 3 Results
You serious? Alvarez/Hansen was the only good match on the entire card before it even started.  UFC's average free card blows this crap out of the water.

Re: DREAM 3 Results
Are YOU serious?  What, do you only care about the "name" fighters?  Did you even watch the event?  Is the average TUF show more to your likely?  The Diaz bout, the Shoji bout, Alvarez/Hansen, Uno v Ishida.... Are you fucking blind or just retarded?  Bring on the TUFers every free card, cant fucking wait...zzzzz

Re: DREAM 3 Results
Agreed. I watch way more UFC than any international org but this had to be the best event I've seen all year so far.

Re: DREAM 3 Results
Rob, you are the proverbial "man"! I've spent the last three plus hours searching for videos of this event, specifically the Hansen Alvarez fight! I've heard it was a classic war!!

I'm dying to see that one... can I assume it's coming?

Thanks man!

Re: DREAM 3 Results
i'm not capping them...just downloading and re-upping...but i will post it up as soon as i see it...

i watched it live...... just epic.... i didn't think hansen would last a minute the way the fight started ....but Hansen fought through it and in the second had a nasty inverted armbar that alvarez somehow escaped from/rolled out of, alvarez was so happy to escape he through his hands up in the air.... alvarez made a fan out of me tonite..... looks like he will prob get aoki next.....they were playing up beef between kawajiri and uno so they will most likely be paired up....

Re: DREAM 3 Results
It's officially Alvarez vs. Kawajiri and Uno vs. Aoki due to backet seedings.

Striker vs striker and sub artist vs. sub artist. I think I'd like to see the fights you suggested but I'm totally fine with watching Kawajiri vs. Alvare. Eddie certainly hasn't had an easy path so far...

I can't believe the Alvarez fight is harder to find than the others right now?? Weird. I figured that would have been the first one posted.

Thanks for doing this. Alvarez is quickly becoming one of my favorite fighters. I first noticed him after he mauled some guy on Elite XC late last year. I put $25 on him before the tourney started and I'm in line to win about $300 if he goes all the way. He will have earned the belt, that's for sure.

Re: DREAM 3 Results
Ummm. Pretty sure Aoki has to fight his second round fight against Katsuhiko Nagata at DREAM 4 before he can be matched up against any of the guys that won last night.

Re: DREAM 3 Results
You are correct. No disrespect to Nagata but Aoki should advance...

My question is, will the finals of the grand prix make fighters fight twice in the same night a la Bushido???

Re: DREAM 3 Results
I am stunned that Uno beat Ishida. That ought to blow up rankings everywhere.

Re: DREAM 3 Results
Good lord I feel good...Uno beating Ishida seemed like a lock in my mind.  I know Ishida is a stud...but for some reason I was really confident in that pick so I threw a decent sized bet on him.  The odds on Uno when I made the play were +265.  So it's a happy mothers day for me.  Also put a pretty sizable bet on Alvarez.  Threw a very small bet on Jung...which didn't really hurt my overall outcome on the event.

Re: DREAM 3 Results
Wow, you go directly to a TUF Noob comment to put me down.  I've been watching MMA since UFC 3.  UFC's top five LWs would beat every guy left in the GP, except (maybe) Aoki.

Nick Diaz, a UFC reject beats a scrub.  Amazing.

Manhoef is exciting, but hardly top-tier.  Congrats to Uno for putting on a show, and I already mentioned that Alvarez and Hansen was a good matchup... but you can't script a good event.  The UFN on December was one of the best cards of the entire 2007, but there really weren't any huge fights.  This card looked like crap on paper and ended up slightly out-doing an expectation of pure crap.  But you can't count on Dream for consistency.  Dream 2 sucked, and Dream 1 wasn't much better.

Maybe I'm fucking blind or just retarded for not kissing this event's ass solely because it's not UFC... or maybe that's just your opinion.  Either way, you're the one who resorted to insults and define yourself on these boards by what you DON'T like instead of what you DO like.

Re: DREAM 3 Results
Finally Diaz's standup looked decent again.  He was throwing some hard shots, that was a great fight.
