Quote of the Day: Keith Jardine

I want to prove to everybody what I'm all about. I want to make my place in MMA history by beating not one, but two of the icons of the sport.

Styles match up weird in this sport. We haven't seen yet how my style matches up against Wanderlei.

What I can't wait for, is being in the middle of the second round, middle of the third round and just sweaty, bloody, tired. Just me and him seeing who the bigger man that day is. And that's fun and that's what we're in this sport for. It's what we live for as fighters.

Re: Quote of the Day: Keith Jardine
Good quote.  If he does beat Wanderlei, that would be something special.  Beating the two fighters that were thought of as the most dangerous fighters in MMA for a long time.  For some strange reason though, I don't think Keith Jardine will necessarily have carved out a place in MMA history for himself if he does beat Wanderlei.

Re: Quote of the Day: Keith Jardine
If he beats Wandy, and since Wandy is really too small to be fighting at 205 in the UFC it's a real possibility, how close is he to a title shot? He's beaten Forrest and Chuck, two of the top contenders - who else does he have to fight before getting a crack at Rampage?

Re: Quote of the Day: Keith Jardine
I guess he has to be near the front of the line. The only person ahead of him I can think of would be Rashad Evans if he beats James Irvin (which I expect him to via decision).

Re: Quote of the Day: Keith Jardine
Good call - Rashad is just so boring (Salmon-kicking notwithstanding). But would we rather see each of them get a shot, or have a face-off? I get the feeling that Rampage can handle either of them.

Re: Quote of the Day: Keith Jardine
Since Rashad and Jardine are training partners at Jackson's camp, I doubt they'd fight one another.  Though I don't think either pose much of a threat to Rampage.

Re: Quote of the Day: Keith Jardine
I vividly remember when Jardine and Evans fought on TUF2. This was (for Rashad, anyway) pre-Jackson, but it was a great fight nonetheless.

Re: Quote of the Day: Keith Jardine
Rashad is so freaking boring.  I felt like even the Sean Salmon KO was a disappointment because of the uneasiness everyone felt when Salmon wouldn't come to.

I would pay to NOT have to watch Jardine vs. Evans.  I can't stand watching friends fight.  Even if the fighters are "professionals," the dynamic of those fights leave a lot to be desired.

Win or lose, I want Wanderlei/Rampage III.

With the exception of the Smith/Sell fight, I agree with you.

And who do you pick in Silva/Jackson 3?

Re: Quote of the Day: Keith Jardine
I see no reason not to have Jackson handle both of them.
