Couture Would Come Back For Fedor

On the Bubba The Love Sponge show, Randy Couture said that if UFC signs Fedor, he would go back.  He did qualify it saying it would have to be under a new contract, not the old one.

Not that it has anything to do with money.

Your move, Dana.

Re: Couture Would Come Back For Fedor
I'm personally shocked that it's about the money.  I never imagined that.

Your move, Dana? For real? Dana's move is that he'll expect Randy to honor the contract he chose to walk away from. End of story.

Yeah, it's Dana's move.  He could either make a play at Fedor or never see Randy in his cage again.

Fedor vs Randy before the end of 2008 for the UFC Heavyweight Championship.

Re: Couture Would Come Back For Fedor
That'd be one hell of a fight.....I hope it goes!

Everyone seems to be on a moral high horse here though......if you were the champ, that set a record for title holdings, and you just defended your title against a man who was supposed to destroy you as he did Cr-Cop, but you beat him in three rounds, you'd expect to get paid.

He did. But Randy was paid considerably less for his win over Gonzaga than Lidell was paid for getting KTFO in the first round. That's a little bit of a slap in the face, and I think many of you would feel the same way in his position. He might even have been paid less than lidell was for losing to Jardine.

Randy could have been another major marketing focus after defending.

First, people fight for pride. That's why he came back to fight Silvia. Then, it gets to be about money. But in the end it's all about RESPECT. and the UFC, through their own machinations, have validated the idea that their sign of respect is the dollar. And the Heavyweight champ is supposed to be the most repsected man in the game. (I know, I know, Silvia gets none, and he was champ......but he's also this big, goofy chump.)

Honestly, you can't say Randy made 'considerably less' than Chuck, because we only know what Randy made.  We can only guess as to how much Chuck made.

Re: Couture Would Come Back For Fedor
The reason you're seeing people on a "moral high horse" is that no one feels sorry for Couture.  He signed a contract to fight for x amount of dollars and isn't holding up his end and is acting like he is getting the shaft.  He could have just as easilly not signed his name on the dotted line.

And seriously...who DOESN'T think there are people doing their jobs worse than they are but making more money?  I see it every day in my office.
