Tito "Done With the UFC and Dana"

From some site called "HollyScoop Sports":

Despite rumors that Tito Ortiz is retiring, Hollyscoop has the real scoop. We caught up with Tito at the "Never Back Down" movie premiere. Tito said, "I am not retiring, ill be fighting for at least another 3 more years.

Tito went on to mention how he is done fighting for the UFC. "I am done with the UFC, I am done being taken advantage of I and one with being disrespected.... I've been in the sport for 11 years I gave them a third of my life and they gave me no respect.

It doesn't end there, Tito went on to talk about his dislike towards UFC President Danna White. "It just shows the president Danna White is full of himself...his biggest victim is himself. I think he's the person that's going to ruin the company...he treats fighters horrible...I will never be taken advantage of the UFC".

Also talks about Kimbo Slice and Frank Shamrock.

I was expecting him to trash Kimbo, but he says he's changed his mind.  I'd like to see a rematch with Frank Shamrock.

Whatever Tito! Dana made you a millionare. Cry me a river about respect. I want to puke everytime an athlete talks about respect, what they really mean is "I want more money". Go get your money somewhere else but don't expect any respect if you can't beat the best in the UFC. Go play with the Shamrock boyz.

Re: Tito "Done With the UFC and Dana"
Respect in professional athletics is nonsense. Respect is simply a euphemism for cash money. Do you ever hear the highest paid athletes in any of the major sports complaining about a lack of respect from their organization? Certainly not. If it was truly about respect, we would have athletes insist on clauses in their contracts that prohibit their head coaches from yelling at them, or ensuring that general manager called them on a twice-weekly basis to tell the player just how much they mean to the franchise. Of course, players would be willing to take pay cuts in order to seek such respect. Show me a player who has done that, and I'll show you a liar.

It comes down to what both sides feel is fair compensation. To me, getting paid $1 million to fight Rashad Evans under the current economics of MMA is a sign of tremendous "respect." Tito appears to feel otherwise. It will be interesting to see if other organizations can match, let alone surpass the  level of "respect" the UFC has shown Tito throughout his tenure with the company.

Re: Tito "Done With the UFC and Dana"
So in Tito's world, he was never a coach on TUF 2 (which was a position graciously given to him after he spent a year testing the waters and finding out that no one really wanted him), never had an All Access show done on him, was never on a Spike special for a third squash match against Ken Shamrock, and was never given an undeserved title shot wins over complete non-contenders (at the time) Forrest and Shamrock...?

He clearly has a short memory.  Either that or he's just a prick.  Maybe both.
