UFC 86 Date and Location

According to the latest print edition of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, published by Dave Meltzer, UFC 86 will take place on July 5 in Las Vegas. The show will be headlined by Quinton Jackson v. Forrest Griffin for the Light Heavyweight title.

Update [2008-3-4 9:23:30 by Luke Thomas]:: Meltzer might be off a bit, because now there are claims the August UFC will be in Minneapolis and feature three native sons:

It's official: Minnesota Boxing and Mixed Martial Arts Commission executive director Scott LeDoux on Monday was notified that Ultimate Fighting Championship plans to hold a card Aug. 9 at Target Center that could feature ex-Gopher Brock Lesnar and fellow Minnesotans Sean Sherk and Brock Larson.

Sherk is already booked to fight Penn at UFC 84 and Larson seemingly as part of the WEC (although we know how quickly the UFC is willing to snatch them up), so I have no idea how accurate this report is. Stay tuned.

Huerta would likely be considered "from Minnesota" as well and if they hold a card there he'd likely be part of it.

What about Huerta? Isn't he from MN? He should ready for his next fight by then. I know he wanted to take some time off, but this would be a good date for him.
