Snapshot of the Day

Tracy Lee's - My trip to Hilo: Day 2 is up.

We started chatting about what he thought of Joe's upcoming fight; BJ feels that Joe has a very good chance of winning his fight against Kenny Florian for Ultimate Fight Night in Broomfield, CO. "If Joe does win, and I win the belt, there's a good chance that we may have to fight each other." I quickly responded, "But you guys wouldn't do that, would you?" BJ said, "He would have to fight me if he wants to be the champion. I want him to realize his dreams; I would make him fight me."

Re: Snapshot of the Day
So much for Jens' idea of training with B.J.

Madison Square Garden. That's incredible. I used to live in NYC. I really miss that city.

Re: Snapshot of the Day
Wonder if BJ could get down to 150 for a catch-weight superfight with Faber....that would be all kinds of awesome, but if they are training together then i would guess the odds are against it...

Re: Snapshot of the Day
Kenny Florian once trained with BJ Penn (right before the filming of TUF 5). If Florian beats Lauzon, he may well be the next in line for a title shot if BJ beats Sherk.

Re: Snapshot of the Day
7pm - 10pm? So is that picture old, or was the 4 hour show a joke?

Re: Snapshot of the Day
It was never 4 hours. Every Fight Night is 2 hours, however, this one will be 3 hours. Not sure where you got 4 from.

Re: Snapshot of the Day
I know there was a movement after the 3 hour announcement to bump it up to 4.  But that'll never happen. 3 hours is a treat honestly...

Re: Snapshot of the Day
This whole thing pisses me off. :P How does Joe Lauzon (or J-Lo for the gayest MMA nickname) get a main event against Florian?  It should be Nate taking on KenFlo (The second gayest nickname in MMA).  Joe got beat by Manny, give me a break.  Too bad K-Flo is going to ruin this poor kids start, then that will be what 2 losses in 3 fights to middle to upper pack LWs. :P  He needs to spend more time training and grinding it out on the lower cards.  I think this is the fastest that a non-season winner has gotten the main event.  Hell, this may be faster then anyone who has won a show has been a main event...

Correct me if I'm wrong. :p Now Nate is on the non-televised card. :P Is this all about the UFC - Diaz Family hate or is it just Joe the golden boy getting preferential treatment?

Bleh.

Re: Snapshot of the Day
Joe is still riding off his TKO of Jens Pulver. The kid had earned LW contender status before he even did the show.

Re: Snapshot of the Day
How can you even classify that if he goes into the show and loses to Manny.  That would have meant with Houston Alexander knocking out Jardine, who knocked out Forrest and beat Chuck, he would have been a contender.  He made it to what?  The semis?  I doubt he would have even stood a chance against Nate.  I just don't get the reasoning.  He beat Jens.  Well, Machida beat BJ a couple years ago fighting at LHW.  That didn't make Machida skyrocket (mainly cause it didn't happen in the UFC) but that reasoning is bunk.  He should be working his ass up the ranks just like everyone else.  Especailly if he didn't win the show.  It's not like you can take a loss to a weak opponent and call it a wash. Pulver was coming back with huge ring rust and fighting out of his weight class.  How does that count?  I really doubt if he beats KenFlo he's a contender either.  Clay Guida, Frankie Edgar, Tyson Griffin, Roger Guerta have all paid their dues way before he entered the mix.  The UFC just keeps puffing this kid up. :P It's pissing me off.
