Antonio Mendes Vs. Thiago Silva at UFC 84
Silva (12-0-0) was originally slated to face Rashad Evans on the Memorial Day weekend card in Las Vegas. That fight was scrapped when Evans accepted a June 7 tilt against Chuck Liddell after Mauricio Rua withdrew because of a significant knee injury.
Mendes is riding an eleven fight win streak and carries a 14-2 record with half his wins coming by KO or TKO. It's not quite as interesting to me as the continuing mission by the UFC to get rid of undefeated records (Bisping/Evans, O'Brien being sacrificed to Arlovski) with the scrap against Rashad. But it still seems like a good test for both fighters...and yet another name from the European scene signed to the UFC.
