*SIGH*...Mark Hunt Signs With Hustle

This is some terribly sad news:

Mark Munt signs with Hustle. As you might remember, Mark Hunt was a guest of the Pro-wresting organization last year. Now he has signed with them, and will make his debut as a pro-wrestler later this year.

In Japan, you can do both pro-wrestling and MMA at the same time. However, I'd MUCH rather see him devote his energies to fighting in the heavyweight division, perhaps against Fedor again. I don't know if that will happen anytime soon.

And, once again, Fedor continues to let his legacy and image crumble for reasons only he will ever really understand.

I'm not a particularly big fan of Hunt.  I think he's overrated as hell.  However, he's also fun as hell to watch.  I find it strange that no organziation has taken an interest in him.  Has he priced himself out, is he not interested in real fighting, or are the major orgs just not interested?  I would have thought that FEG, desperately needing to spice up the K-1 lineup, would have jumped at an opportunity to resign him.

Fedor is still fairly young.  Any damage that is done to his name during this fairly tumultuous period can be built back up.

But with so many guys "on the bench," the quality of the fights for the fans is definitely not as good as it could be.

I agree it's unfortunate to see Hunt's MMA potential squandered in wrestling entertainment.

But...

I think it's easy to understand and that his image is not crumbling. If Fedor can find good money elsewhere, why subject himself to singing contracts with Dana White?

And until there is some sort of clear domination of the UFC heavyweight division by someone, I don't think Fedor has anything he needs to prove.
