A Big Day for MMA in Maryland

This afternoon the Maryland State Senate will go to committee to consider Senate Bill 649, which proposes to legalize both amateur and professional mixed martial arts. As I stated previously, I've been asked to give very brief remarks about the economic impact legalization could have. I was somehow able to cobble together some decent numbers and my speech was approved.

So, I'll be away from the computer for some time today, but I'll update everyone upon my return. I've been told the committee is quite friendly to this legislation, so I think this will turn out to be a pretty routine affair when it's all said and done.

Here's to hoping everything goes smoothly, both for my tiny speech and, more importantly, legalization of the sport in Maryland.

So how did it go?  Did you record it for playback on the radio show?
