Nate Mohr Suffers Torn PCL

In his prelim loss to Manny Gamburyan at UFC 79 Nate Mohr was in a leg lock when he let out a scream and the fight was stopped.  My initial reaction was that Manny must have switched from an ankle lock to a heel hook and damaged Nate's knee.  During the PPV broadcast no camera angle was shown that really revealed how Manny had the hold locked on.

However MMAWeekly reports that it was more of a freak accident while attempting to improve his position:

"He was no threat to my ankle at all. I have spent a lot of time on foot locks since my fight with Kurt [Pellegrino]," explained Mohr. "I saw an opening and I was getting ready to throw some hard shots to his face. As I sat up, he made a small adjustment and my knee just popped. I screamed at first reaction and the ref stopped it. I never tapped. I will do my rehab, rest it up and be back in the mix."

Once again a Gamburyan fight ends on an injury.  It's unfortunate, but a part of the game.

The question for Mohr (now 1-2 in the octogon) is if the UFC will see past the injury and give him another shot.  If they do Nate will have to shore up his submission game as all 5 of his losses have come via chokes and leg locks.

Re: Nate Mohr Suffers Torn PCL
I'm afraid the UFC lw division is just too stacked for 3rd chances. The only way I see Mohr getting another fight is if one of the TUF kids loses a fight and needs a comeback fight. Otherwise, I think Nate is better off racking up some wins on the smaller show circuit and improving his skillz.

Re: Nate Mohr Suffers Torn PCL
I personally don't think Mohr deserves another chance either.  But his questionable sub defense is a good thing to keep around for the exact reason that you mentioned.  You can throw him in as a "should win" for most of their TUF guys they want to build up.  Maybe he'll get one last chance as I have a feeling the UFC isn't willing to give up on Jared Rollins quite yet.

Oh good lord...where is my head.  I was thinking 155 and then just moved Rollins down a weight class.  It must be the little kid voice.

Re: Nate Mohr Suffers Torn PCL
Anyone had an injury like this or know what the likely recovery time / long term effects could be?  You hear about ACL and MCL injuries all the time, but PCL is kinda new to me.
