Uggg UFC 75 the Hangover

Ok, Sunday morning is coming down and the feeling is brutal. Some UFC's leave you feeling good and some just leave you feeling down.
Watching Cro Cop get battered and bullied just makes me sad. He doesn't seem to have adjusted to the cage at all and Kongo's game plan was solid. Those knees to the groin were cheap and really summed up the fight for me -- poor Mirko slumped against the cage cradling his smashed nads. I think Cro Cop should move down to LHW. He's no bigger than Tito or Chuck and should just cut the weight and move down a division.
From a business perspective I wonder what Dana will do with his highly paid 2 time loser. Cro Cop's marketability with UFC fans can't me much beyond Heath Herring's at this point. All they've seen is a semi-impressive win over Eddie Sanchez, the dramatic loss to Gonzaga and now this sustained domination by Kongo. Kongo lost to Carmelo Marrero for gosh sakes! The TUF noobs are not impressed, they just think Mirko is an overhyped loser who plays Duran Duran.
I'd say this has to dramatically decrease Dana's interest in bending over for Fedor. It also really shows how different the cage is than the ring. In the PRIDE ring, Mirko could corner his opponents and fire off kill shots to the head. In the cage they can just circle away.
The other hangover is the terrible awful not so good Bisping/Hamill decision. Geez that sucked and rewatching the fight I'm convinced it sucks even more in the clear light of day. Bisping's bad sportsmanship is outrageous. Hamill deserves a rematch in the USA. Bisping will cut and run to 185 to avoid that.
In better news, I'm happy Rampage held the belt and expect him to defend it against Shogun and Wandy if the chance arises. Shogun's in for a big shock in the cage. Forrest might just surprise everyone. Wandy has always done poorly in the cage and the Chute Boxe team's reliance on soccer kicks and stomps (and roids?) will leave them without their deadliest weapons.

In the past few hours I’ve read some pretty dumb shit from some pretty dumb people. And while I’m not going to defend Crocop’s performance tonight, I am going to defend his standing as one of the world’s top fighters. Talking about a top guy’s career being over after two losses is simply retarded. I wonder if they’ll do the same to Chuck Liddell if he loses to Keith Jardine. They certainly did it to Randy Couture over and over, and half the internet still brings up Couture’s slumps when trying to justify their position on ‘why Randy will lose this time’. No one - especially not a hack like Kevin Iole - has the right to call Mirko Crocop washed up. No one has the right to say his career may be over. Those words are simply factually incorrect. Maybe three years down the road after a loss to Frank Mir pushes him out of the UFC and he’s fighting Tank Abbott on an Indian reservation. But now? Get a fucking grip, people.
