Brandon Vera Likely to Face Tim Sylvia

I just got off the UFC 74 conference call and when asked who would likely be Brandon Vera's first opponent back, Dana White said Tim Sylvia.

I'll get the other notes out as soon as I compile them. Stay tuned.

Hmmm, Vera had the standup power to prevent the usual Sylvia borefest (I hope).

Did he give any information on when the return might happen? I know yesterdays official report said as early as October but since Sylvia contracted Staph is it even possible for him to be ready for an October fight against Vera. Anyways I link to this from UFCDaily.com but was interested to see what else was said about it.

The other lame about this is it dashes our hopes of a Vera/Arlovski matchup.

This should be a great fight! Now that Tim no longer has a title, he can go back to trying to win, instead of worrying about losing. He is a monster when he has nothing to lose in the cage!
