Rumor: Silva v. Henderson at UFC 81?

Promoted by Kid Nate -- I was going to post on this then saw Michael's diary. Could be a great fight. I'd pick Dan.

On the Savage Dog Show over at Sherdog, Greg said that someone in one of these fighters' camps told him that Silva is fighting Henderson at UFC 81.  They did make it clear, however, that this is not confirmed.

This show was originally supposed to be headlined by a Randy Couture heavyweight title defense, probably against Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira.  If this rumor is true, UFC has done a great job finding a replacement main event.  The fight won't be as "big" as a Randy fight, but it's a hell of a dream fight.  Let's hope it's true!

I Heard Nog and Sylvia was going to happen if the Randy fight didn't go down.

Re: Rumor: Silva v. Henderson at UFC 81?
I'm still hearing a lot of buzz regarding the UFC and Randy trying to get it worked out to do the Nog fight at 81.  Kind of a "one more fight" deal.  I know it doesn't SEEM too likely, but I'm hearing a good deal of reliable "buzz" about it.  Remember, Dana said in the presser that he was still going to offer Randy the fight.

I'm not sure if it's because both sides realize that they both lost face in the whole media war or what...but I wouldn't be shocked to see it get signed at this point.

Again, this is hearsay from my "sources" whom I can not name...so feel free to not believe me.  Trust me, I don't believe many people with "mystery sources" either.  And besides, these same sources were giving me the impression that Arlovski was set to be Lesnar's first fight.  I will say that they've been right more times than not.

If it is true though...

Randy/Nog
Silva/Hendo
Lesnar/Mir

...that smells like money to me.

The logical end is for Randy to get a raise, fight his next 2 fights, and leave.  That is the fastest possible way to make a lot of money and fight Fedor.  The only thing standing in his way is pride, and the people around him that hate Dana.  Hopefully he just fights, we all want to see it.
