Khabib Nurmagomedov is still waiting to find out who his next opponent will be inside the octagon.
"The Eagle," who picked up arguably the biggest win of his UFC career when he defeated Brazil's Rafael dos Anjos via unanimous decision back in April, was hoping the win would elevate him towards a title shot, but that was certainly not the case. Even though the Dagestan native dominated the entire contest with surprising ease, and picked up his sixth straight win in the UFC to extend his undefeated streak to an impressive 22-0, he will still have to wait for the resolution between Anthony Pettis and Gilbert Melendez in December following the conclusion of the TUF 20 show.
Since he is aware that a title shot is not in the cards for his foreseeable future, Khabib told MMABoxing.ru that he expects his next bout to be against the winner of the UFC Fight Night: Atlantic City main event between Donald Cerrone and Jim Miller.
"There are so many questions about my next fight but I have no any answer yet," Nurmagomedov told MMABoxing.ru. "I'm just waiting phone call from the UFC. But I think most likely my next fight will be against the winner of Cerrone - Miller bout."
UFC Fight Night: Cerrone vs. Miller takes place July 16 at the Revel Casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey
