It is not my place to talk about the quality of TUF 19, because the only episode I watched was Cathal Pendred versus Eddie Gordon, and I don't need to see it again. However, everyone else from Joe Beerbelly to Dana White has derided the quality of this season's cast, and the end result is that only a handful of fighters (including Pendred for the Ireland show) are getting a UFC contract. Pertaining to this Sunday's finale in Las Vegas, Dhiego Lima fights Gordon in the middleweight final, while Corey Anderson takes on Matt Van Buren at light heavyweight. The only other TUF 19 members involved are eliminated LHW semifinalists Daniel Spohn and Patrick Walsh.
The main event is a 3rd meet-up between former lightweight champs Frankie Edgar and B.J. Penn, who will contest this bout at featherweight. In case you're wondering, all of the TUF finalists came from Team Edgar, which means that in two seasons of TUF, Penn has manged to put through 0 finalists out of 6 possible spots.
My personal pick for best fight on this card is Dustin Ortiz against Justin Scoggins in the flyweight division, if not solely because Scoggins looks to have what it takes to be a contender somewhere down the line.
