It has been a while, but I am back. I will be returning to MMA on August 9th, this time dropping to 135 lbs. Honestly, I was too cocky going into my last fight, and nerves got to me. I am a little more seasoned, way more humble (Getting KO'd in your debut on PPV will do that to a guy), and I have shored up some of my major holes in preparation for this fight.
I am lucky to work as the Program Director/Gym Manager at my gym where I train, Stout Training Pittsburgh - Team Renzo Gracie BJJ & MMA www.stouttrainpitt.com & this allows me to train much more than a typical amateur fighter. In the nine months between fights, I earned my blue belt and had the opportunity to train with all the top pro prospects at Daniel Gracie's in Philadelphia as well. (Euphamism: I got beat up on by Jonavin Webb & Paul Felder, two of the top East Coast prospects out there.)
I am still waiting on an opponent, but my return has been set in Gladiators of the Cage at Stage AE in Pittsburgh PA. Doors will open at 6. Fights start at 7. If you are local and want to come I am selling tickets, you can contact me at https://www.facebook.com/AndyAndersonBJJ or https://twitter.com/AndyAndersonBJJ. If you are out of the area and want to see me and some of the best prospects Western Pennsylvania has to offer you can also order the PPV at www.GOTCMMA.com.
I also wanted to let everyone know about Gladiators of the Cage, they are an up and coming regional promotion & their MW & LHW champ, Chris Dempsey was just signed by the UFC to fight Ilir Latifi in Ireland next weekend. In addition, if there are any aspiring MMA writers out there reading this, contact the promotion as well, they are starting a MMA magazine and are looking for writers.
So remember. Gladiators of the Cage. Stage AE. August 9th. Doors open at 6. Fights start at 7 in the East, 4 in the West. Andy Anderson vs TBA. Only on PPV at www.GOTCMMA.com. Be There.
Edit: I just accepted an opponent. Waiting on confirmation.
Edit: I am fighting Ian Masters out of Cincinnati.
