UFC fight bookings roundup: 5/28-6/4

Jason Silva-USA TODAY Sports

The UFC has booked a bunch of fights over the last few days, and here's a rundown of what they put together.

Since the UFC has decided to produce 50+ events in 2014, there is a remarkable amount of fighter signings and new match-ups being set up throughout any given week.  Many of these new signings are for match-ups that take place on the undercard, or on the Fight Pass portion of a PPV, so we are going to continue with a new weekly (or bi-weekly if needed) series of articles where we take a brief look at each and every bout booked by the promotion in one place.

UFC Fight Night: Te Huna vs. Marquardt

As noted earlier this week, a featherweight match-up between Ian Entwistle and Daniel Hooker was recently added to the fight card in New Zealand, as well as a late replacement bout between Neil Magny and Jungle Fights welterweight champ Rodrigo Goiana de Lima. Magny was originally slated to face Claudio Silva on the card.

UFC Fight Night: Cerrone vs. Miller

Lightweights Joe Proctor and Justin Salas are slotted to compete on the preliminary portion of the UFC Fight Night 45 card in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Also, an injury scratched Germaine de Randamie from the fight card, leaving Milana Dudieva to face Valerie Letourneau instead.

UFC Fight Night: McGregor vs. Brandao

After the initial confusion over whether Trevor Smith would fight at UFC 175 as a replacement for Bruno Santos, or in Dublin as originally announced, it appears that Smith will still get his original opponent, Tor Troeng, at the upcoming show in July.

UFC on Fox: Lawler vs. Brown

Gilbert Burns will welcome the undefeated Andreas Stahl into the UFC octagon on the FOX card in San Jose. Stahl was expected to make his promotional debut at UFC Fight Night 33, but was forced out of the contest due to an injury. He will now finally get his chance to compete in the UFC.
