The UFC brass has been in talks with the former face of Women's MMA in Gina Carano, but based on a report from Ariel Helwani, discussions to sign the fighter turned Hollywood star has apparently "stalled". It was stated that negotiations aren't completely dead yet, although it looks like it looks like there will not be a deal soon.
Carano is 7-1 in her MMA career, and while she has been busy kicking ass in the silver screen, she recently turned 32, and hasn't competed professionally since 2009.
As talks to pick up a popular female fighter stalls out, another one seems to be going on the right track. Initially thought to to be dead in the water just a few months back, negotiations to sign former boxing world champion Holly Holm is "progressing and are in a good place".
Holm is one of the most decorated female boxers in history, and as she decided to hang up her gloves in exchange for smaller 4 ounce pairs, she has continued her dominance into Mixed Martial Arts. As she went 33-2-3 in boxing, she's is now a perfect 7-0 in her MMA career, and recently won the Legacy FC title last April.
