UFC Fight Night: Swanson vs. Stephens fight card

A look at this Saturday night's UFC Fight Night in San Antonio, where Cub Swanson and Jeremy Stephens square off in a featherweight main event.

It's double fight week! This Saturday, in the wee hours of the morning, you'll find a UFC Fight Night in Auckland, New Zealand, and then that night another Fight Night in San Antonio, Texas. Cub Swanson has been on a fantastic run of form in the UFC, having won 5 straight after losing his promotional debut to Ricardo Lamas. Swanson has finished all of his UFC victims except Dustin Poirier, who is arguably his strongest victory to date. He shares the main event spot with Jeremy Stephens, who seems to be reborn at featherweight after a bad stretch at lightweight, and if he can improve his record to 4-0 at 145 lbs, a title shot is conceivable for "Lil' Heathen".

Think of it as a de facto #1 contender's match, if not a really good fight with high potential for a knockout within the scheduled 5 rounds. TUF 17 winner Kelvin Gastelum meets Sweden's Nico Musoke in the co-main, while Ricardo Lamas returns from his title fight loss to Jose Aldo to face Hacran Dias. Good news for Joe Ellenberger is they've found his 24th different opponent in the past 3 weeks, and if everything works out well, James Moontasri will be his debut fight.
