Invicta FC contender Ediane Gomes: UFC women 'worried about showing their a***s,' should be replaced by strippers

In a recent interview, the next Invicta Featherweight contender had plenty of harsh words for her fellow WMMA fighters under the UFC banner.

Since the formation of the UFC women's Bantamweight division early in 2013, WMMA has become increasingly popular. Alongside champion Ronda Rousey, the other 135 lbers have been working to make their presence known and the Strawweight division will be featured exclusively in the upcoming TUF 20. Despite the success of the women in the UFC, it seems one of their colleagues in Invicta FC is not impressed.

In a recent interview with Tatame (via MMA Fighting) Invicta contender Ediane Gomes had some harsh words for her UFC counterparts:

"The (female) fighters in the UFC are more worried about showing their a**es than actually fighting. MMA has become a new thing because of Ronda, but she's actually one of the few real fighters. To be in the UFC, you have to show your a**. They should just put some strippers to brawl in there, it would be better."

If that weren't enough, while Gomes praises the talent of Rousey and Amanda Nunes, the only other fighter to defeat Gomes, she thinks little of the rest of the division:

"Ronda deserves to be where she is now. I don't see any fighter to beat her. The only one that could give her some trouble is Amanda Nunes. Nobody else can take her title," Gomes said. "She's good in what she does. The others are terrible. A bunch of cans. I say this and I'm not ashamed of it. It's ridiculous. I dream about fighting in the UFC to show the other fighters that they need to train more. Miesha is good, but she should stay as a model so she can make more money."

Gomes is expected to face off against Invicta FC Featherweight champion Cris Cyborg in the promotion's next event. The show has not yet been officially scheduled, but it will be the first to be broadcast on UFC Fight Pass as part of the newly inked deal between the two promotions. After she fights "Cyborg" Gomes said she'd be willing to head to drop to 135 lbs. to face off against said cans" of the UFC women's Bantamweight division.
