Jarrell Miller has a score to settle and he plans on doing it tomorrow night in Los Angeles at the Glory: Last Man Standing show. A year ago, he faced Mirko "CroCop" Filipovic and lost a highly controversial decision to the Croatian. Was there a bit of home cooking happening? The probability is pretty high considering the bout took place in CroCop's back yard.
Now, a year later and with a renewed interest in avenging that loss, Miller looks to not only beat CroCop, but retire him from active competition. Bloody Elbow recently interviewed "Big Baby", who discussed his upcoming match with the MMA and kickboxing legend.
The first time I fought him (CroCop), I knew right from the get that I would have to knock him out. I wasn't too surprised when they announced the decision. The thing is, it didn't really sink in until I got back home and reviewed the tape. These guys just jerked the shit out of me with that decision. I kind of let it slip by me, but it's been a little over a year, and lately it's been nagging and biting and killing me. All I can think of is that I've gotta get this fucker back somehow.
The opportunity came along and I'm ready to get my redemption. I'm ready to be the prosecutor, judge and jury. I want to kick this old fart's ass really bad. I would like to retire him. When I say that, it's not because I hate him, it's because I respect him and want to be the one to finally stop the legend.
The 25 year-old heavyweight is not averse to staying active in both kickboxing and boxing (where he is most active), if the right contract conditions can be met, allowing him to compete in both sports. Being a champion in both would just be the icing on the cake.
Being champion in both sports would be awesome. Nobody has ever done it before. I'll never say never, but first, I've got to finish CroCop. We'll see how it goes. The one thing I know is that CroCop is definitely going to catch a beating.
Jarrell Miller vs. Mirko Filipovic takes place tomorrow night, June 21 on PPV on the Glory: Last Man Standing card in Los Angeles.
