UFC welterweight Paulo Thiago hasn't had the best luck over the last four years. After a solid start to his career in the octagon, he has won but two of his last eight bouts and lost four out his last five overall. This led many to believe that the Brazilian Special Forces police officer would likely be released by the promotion, especially after his last loss to Gasan Umalatov at the TUF Brazil 3 Finale last month.
"I was cool, but anxious because all of the recent cuts they did. I wasn't that tense. Whatever they decided, I would be cool."
Thiago doesn't know who he will be matched up with next as of yet, but is hoping to fight on the UFC's September card in his hometown of Brasilia. In the meantime, he was been working at World Cup soccer games in his city and will continue to do so for the duration of the tournament.
