Bellator lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez hints at Michael Chandler rubber match on Twitter

Bellator lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez sent out a tweet hinting that Michael Chandler is his next opponent, not interim champ Will Brooks.

After Will Brooks shocked Michael Chandler to capture the Bellator interim lightweight champion in last month's PPV, Eddie Alvarez, whose concussion necessitated the fight, supposedly had the option of either fighting Chandler one more time or unifying the belts, as is the logical thing to do when you create an interim belt. Earlier today, Alvarez sent out this tweet that suggests that Alvarez vs. Chandler 3 seems to be the direction they're headed:

"Your boss ain't having it" just about implies Bjorn Rebney and "interim" is an obvious reference to Brooks. Alvarez and Brooks have done plenty of verbal sparring and have expressed mutual interest in fighting each other over the past few weeks. Alvarez seems to be indicating that he wanted Brooks but Rebney/Bellator officials overruled him, and based on his tone he doesn't seem to be pleased with what transpired.

Bellator hasn't announced anything other than a confirmed 2nd PPV for season 11. We'll see if Alvarez vs. Chandler 3 is indeed next for the champion, which you'd have to assume would be on their next PPV.
