Tim Boetsch is getting the chance to fight in his home state. The UFC will be headed to Bangor, Maine on August 16th for a Fight Night and they've announced the first two fights for the card, one of which will feature The Barbarian. He'll be taking on another ranked opponent in need of a win. Here's the info from the Bangor Daily News:
Boetsch, the Lincolnville native ranked 13th in the Ultimate Fighting Championship's middleweight division, has made a verbal commitment to fight 14th-ranked Brad Tavares as part of the UFC Fight Night card at the Cross Insurance Center.
Boetsch (17-7) has taken a nosedive in the rankings recently due to losses in three of his last four bouts. Even his one win over C.B. Dollaway was pretty questionable. The last loss came in just over two minutes via submission to Luke Rockhold at UFC 176.
Tavares (12-2) had a five-fight win streak stopped by Yoel Romero, who defeated him by unanimous decision at UFC on Fox 10 in April.
