Jason High was released following a post-fight shove of referee Kevin Mulhall after Mulhall stopped High's bout with Rafael dos Anjos. High felt that he had taken a series of shots to the back of the head in the final flurry that led to the TKO loss and gave Mulhall a shove after getting to his feet post-stoppage.
Dana White was quick in stating that High would be cut, "You don't ever, ever fucking touch a referee, ever. You're done here."
White was far less critical of Chael Sonnen in the wake of Sonnen's positive drug test that led to the cancellation of his UFC 175 co-main event with Vitor Belfort. White appeared on Fox Sports 1 and, while still laying some blame at Sonnen's feet, mostly defended the star.
The positive test led to Sonnen announcing his retirement last night and a change in the narrative from many being critical of Sonnen to somewhat flowery retrospectives on his career.
High took to Twitter this morning to share his thoughts on the different ways the UFC handled complication situations, summing it up in five simple words:
