UFC 174: Andrei Arlovski rejects glass jaw talk about Brendan Schaub or himself

Paul Abell-US PRESSWIRE

The former UFC Heavyweight champ isn't listening to those who say his UFC 174 opponent is an easy out. He's heard the same talk about himself and thinks it's all "bulls**t."

I can't believe it's a come back!

Andrei Arlovski has been dogged by accusations that he's got a glass jaw since he lost the UFC title to Tim Sylvia way back at UFC 59. Getting clocked by Fedor Emelianenko in a bout he was dominating didn't help either.

Be that as it may, Arlovski is emphatically rejecting any suggestion that his UFC 174 opponent (did I really just type that?) Brendan Schaub has a glass jaw.

Here's what Arlovski told MMA Junkie,"I think it's all BS. People say I had a glass jaw or weak chin, too, and when I fought Anthony ‘Rumble' Johnson, the referee fell asleep, and I had the broken jaw in the first round because the referee made a mistake. I fought the second and third rounds with a broken jaw in two places, and he didn't finish me. I think it's all bull-t. The heavyweight division, if you land a good, good punch in the right place, everybody is going to fall.

"When I left the UFC, I made a business decision to leave the UFC," Arlovski said. "I had some fighting experience and some life experience, so I'm very happy where I'm at right now. I'm very excited. He's tough. He's top-14, 15. I'm not even top-20 or 25, so it's a very important fight for me. I need to prove I'm one of the best fighters in the world. I have to beat the people that are in front of me."

Arlovski last fought in the UFC in 2008. Since then he's gone 8-5 with 1 no contest. He's 6-1, 1 NC since 2011 with his only loss coming to fellow UFC prodigal Anthony Johnson.
