Bellator 119 results: Daniel Weichel wins featherweight tournament

Daniel Weichel is the Bellator featherweight tournament champ after submitting Des Green in the first round.

Bellator 119 went down tonight, a spectacularly weak show ahead of next week's "as stacked as we can get it" debut of Bellator on pay-per-view.

The action got underway with Raphael Butler against Nick Rossborough in a heavyweight fight. Rossborough is best known for his nickname "The Slim Shady of MMA" and for being a guy who Lorenz Larkin beat on a Strikeforce show. The fight was horrible, marked by Butler using a clear intentional headbutt to deal with Rossborough being on his back.

The referee took a point, but then restarted the fight on the feet, effectively rewarding Butler for a dangerous intentional foul. There was a brief wild exchange that got the crowd going, but then it settled into Butler grinding away for two rounds of unwatchable action.

The final result was a majority draw with scores of 28-27, 28-28 and 28-28.

Vaughn Anderson talked about how he drinks snake blood, then proceeded to get beat up by Marius Zaromskis. Anderson did have a brief moment in the first where he stung Zaromskis, but it was all Zaromskis from there as he coasted to a decision win with scores of 29-28, 30-27 and 30-27.

John Alessio ground out a win over Eric Wisely. Not much action to report from this one, but Alessio used his veteraln savvy and ground game to simply keep Wisely from ever getting going.

Alessio took the fight with three cards reading 30-27.

In the main event, Daniel Weichel beat Desmond Green with a second round rear naked choke to win the featherweight tournament finals.

Green looked really awful on the feet in the first round before Weichel stung him multiple times in the second round. Green got desperate and stuck himself in a bad position, allowing Weichel to get back control and sink in the choke.
