Just a little over a week since getting KO'd by old rival Melvin Manhoef in 46 seconds, 36-year-old Evangelista "Cyborg" Santos has retired from mixed martial arts according to Portal do Vale Tudo. Santos went 19-16 over a 17 year career that saw him fight for some of the world's top MMA promotions (including Strikeforce, Pride, Pancrase and Sengoku) on three continents.
Cyborg was one of the founding fighters of Brazil's legendary Chute Boxe camp but he wasn't averse to fighting teammates as Jose Landi-Jons and Mauricio Rua found out first hand. He also fought stars such as Nick Diaz and Gegard Mousasi in his storied career.
