BE Advanced Class: Jimmy Pedro Standing Grip Fighting

Grip fighting tips from a Judo world champion

The Bloody Elbow Advanced Class is back and my time wasted on YouTube is your gain. Today we feature some standing gi grappling with Jimmy Pedro. One of the best American Judoka's in history, Pedro is a two time Olympic Bronze Medalist and World Champion in Judo.

Pedro was also the 2013 U.S. National Judo team coach and is considered one of the best Judo coaches in the country. His approach to grip fighting is famous and in this short video he gives you something very practical and immediately applicable for anyone looking to grappling in a gi. The video comes from the awesome BJJ Weekly library, which as the name suggests adds a new video each week and is worth following.
