The UFC has been shuffling the deck of late when it comes to headline fights. A planned bout between Chael Sonnen and Wanderlei Silva was planned for UFC 173, then the TUF Brazil 3 Finale, and now 175. In response the former headlining bout of UFC 173, Junior dos Santos vs. Stipe Miocic was moved to headline TUF Brazil 3, and Daniel Cormier vs. Dan Henderson was moved from UFC 175 to co-main at UFC 173. It's all been a bit of a mess really, and it looks like the end result may be that the UFC will have to put on their TUF Brazil show without a big headlining fight. Combate reports that Junior Dos Santos has broken his hand in training and been pulled off the card.
No official announcement has been made by the UFC at this time, but one is expected shortly. It's also unknown as to whether they UFC will look to find a new opponent for Miocic. It's hard to tell exactly which of the unbooked top heavyweights might be available for a short notice fight in Brazil. If not, I suppose there's the potential that the UFC could push on with the event with Demian Maia vs. Alexander Yakovlev as the headliner, but that seems unlikely. It will be interesting to see who can step in and take a fight with Miocic right now, so stay tuned as Bloody Elbow will be sure to keep you updated.
The Ultimate fighter Brazil 3 Finale takes place May 31st in Sao Paulo Brazil. here's the card as it stands right now.
