Iuri Alcantara was questionably put on the prelims of today's UFC Fight Night Berlin card on Fight Pass, but the Brazilian has almost assuredly set himself up for a main card booking in his next fight. Alcantara took on England's Vaughan Lee, who was coming off his impressive dismantling of Nam Phan in March.
Lee stepped forward and tried throwing a knee but left himself open for Alcantara to counter, and he belted Lee with a big left hand on the temple that sent Lee crashing to the canvas. Alcantara threw a few more shots to put Lee away and force the first stoppage of the night at just 25 seconds of round 1.
Alcantara (30-5, 1 NC) is 3-1, 1 NC since moving to bantamweight in January 2013, with his sole loss coming against Urijah Faber. Lee (14-10-1) is now 3-4 in the UFC and has yet to win consecutive fights in the promotion.
