Fans of Brazilian whirlwind John Lineker will soon get to see him in action once more. He's set for a
future catchweight flyweight bout with Alp Ozkilic at UFC Fight Night: Cerrone vs. Miller on July 16th, per UFC News:
Lineker (23-7) is coming off a unanimous decision loss to upcoming title challenger Ali Bagautinov at UFC 169. The 23-year-old has had a poor track record of making weight, and not once has he ever weighed below 125 lbs. In total, he's missed weight 3 times (all resulting in catchweights), plus a 4th against Bagautinov where he came in at 127 lbs and then shed the extra 16 ounces to make weight the 2nd time. It's a shame, because his fighting style is incredibly fun and he's one of the hardest punchers in the division.
Ozkilic (9-2) is a 28-year-old prospect of Turkish descent who previously held NJCAA All-American wrestling honors while at Nassau Community College in Long Island, New York. He won his UFC debut on short notice against Darren Uyenoyama before losing a decision to Louis Smolka in January.
UFC Fight Night: Cerrone vs. Miller will be held at the Revel Casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey, and the night's main card will air on Fox Sports 1.
