UFC 173 salaries: Robbie Lawler and Daniel Cormier earn biggest paydays

Stephen R. Sylvanie-USA TODAY Sports

The disclosed UFC 173 pay of Robbie Lawler and Daniel Cormier dwarfs that of new UFC bantamweight champion T.J. Dillashaw

T.J. Dillashaw put a beating on Renan Barao at UFC 173, wresting the UFC bantamweight title from the clutches of Barao. For his efforts Dillashaw took home $100,000 in post-fight bonuses for the night, claiming Fight of the Night and Performance of the Night honors. The bonuses brought the new champion a total disclosed compensation of $136,000 for the night. That sum put him third on the take home pay list on the May 24 card.

If you include his $100,000 in bonus money, Dillashaw's $136,000 came in behind the paydays of co-main event winner Daniel Cormier's $170,000 and Robbie Lawler who took home $200,000 for his win over Jake Ellenberger. The man Cormier defeated, Dan Henderson took home $100,000.

If you do not include Dillashaw's bonus awards, eight fighters earned more in salary than the newly minted champion, including the man he defeated, Renan Barao, who pulled in $74,000. (Barao also earned an extra $50,000 for his share of Fight of the Night for a total of $124,000)
