The new EA UFC game is set to be released in a couple of weeks, and the roster has been finalized and released to the public last month. The current line up has about 100 fighters, and while they did include martial arts icon Bruce Lee, and retired stars such as Chuck Liddell, Royce Gracie, and Forrest Griffin, there is a notable absentee on the current line up for active fighters -- UFC bantamweight champion, T.J. Dillashaw.
As the current roster stands, they have 9 bantamweights on the video game in Renan Barao, Urijah Faber, Michael McDonald, Eddie Wineland, Mike Easton, Dominick Cruz, Erik Perez, Brian Bowles. If you want to play as the current champion though, it isn't going to be possible until EA updates the game, or makes him available as downloadable content.
Not many would've predicted that he would eventually be granted a title shot and be the person to dethrone the dominant champion, but now he had his meteoric rise, it leaves EA Sports and the UFC in a bit of a tough spot.
They gambled wrong by choosing guys like Easton or Perez over the eventual champion to put in the game, and now they have to scramble to get the current champion on it as soon as possible.
