UFC featherweight Conor McGregor may be scheduled to headline the UFC's return to Dublin against Cole Miller, but the UFC is already setting up for a potential match-up with Dustin Poirier, should the Irishman leave his hometown victorious in July.
Ariel Helwani revealed the news on UFC Tonight.
McGregor had recently voiced his interest in the Poirier match-up when he was on the MMA Hour:
"I want Dustin. I want Dustin real bad."
McGregor is 14-2 in his MMA career, and 2-0 since joining the UFC in 2013. The potential match-up against Poirier would be a significant step up in competition for Conor, as Dustin is ranked seven spots ahead of him in the rankings at No. 7.
