Quinton Jackson is getting another chance to shine after being bumped up to the main event of Bellator's first pay-per-view when the original headliner was derailed by an injury to Eddie Alvarez. Rampage is taking on King Mo Lawal on the show, and recently Mo's teammate and UFC light heavyweight contender Daniel Cormier recently had some things to say about the PPV headliner - in fact, he thinks Mo is going to retire Jackson. When Rampage was asked about these comments at the open workouts, he blew them off in the way that he usually does:
"Why do I care about Daniel Cormier? Is he in my league? He's just talking 'cause that's his boy. That's what people do. I don't think about stuff like that. That don't bother me. I don't care about what other people say. I know what I'm going to do to Mo.
I don't care what Daniel says. Daniel can't get in the cage and fight for Mo, can he? Okay."
But he also couldn't resist throwing another brash statement out as well:
"Daniel needs to watch what he says before I smack the taste out of his mouth."
Nothing will come of that obviously, but it was just Rampage being Rampage. Jackson (34-11) and Mo (12-3, 1 NC) will tangle near Memphis, Rampage's home town, with the
Bellator interim light heavyweight title love and respect of millions of fans on the line.
