The UFC will return to Las Vegas once again to host yet again another exciting fight card and once again the title is on the line as the Newly crowned UFC Bantamweight kingpin Renan Barao ( 34-1-0 1 NC ) will defend his title for the second time against #4 ranked TJ Dillashaw (10-2) another top ranked member of Team Alpha Male in Sacramento California along the likes of Urijah Faber, Chad Mendes and Joseph Benavidez all top ranked fighters in their respective weight classes. TJ is coming a impressive three round decision victory over the tough Mike Easton in January. However Barao hasn't lost in over 33 fights ( Since his very 1st fight) and is on a tear and according to Dana White the #2 P4P fighter in the world. #1 P4P fighter being the Light heavyweight Champ Jon Jones. UFC-173 will consist of a lot of amazing fights on PPV including the return of #4 Ranked light-heavyweight Daniel Cormier ( 14-0 ) who will fight the former Strikeforce Light-heavyweight and two time Pride Champion #6 ranked Dan Henderson (30-11-0) for the Co-Main event. As well as a showdown welterweight showdown between #1 Ranked Robbie Lawler facing #5 Ranked Jake Ellenberger. Robbie most recently fought the newly crowned Welterweight Champion Johny Hendricks to a close 5 round decision loss, looks to rebound off that loss and get a decisive victory over Jake Ellenberger and be position himself for a rematch with the champion in the near future. for Jake he hasn't fought since a lopsided loss to #2 Ranked Rory MacDonald back on UFC-on Fox 8 and he also looks to get back on the winning track and be on the short list of contenders in this stacked Welterweight Division. Should be a great fight in my opinion. Bantamweight contenders #6 Takeya Mizugaki (19-7-2) returns to fight #10 ranked Francisco Rivera (10-2-0 1NC ) As for the Co Main event Daniel Cormier Vs. Dan Henderson the winner of that fight will get a shot at the title and most likely fight the winner of the rematch between Jon Jones and Alexandr Gustafsson. Also a lightweight showdown featuring Jamie Varner fighting James Krause. All in my opinion are great fights. Now for the winners and losers of these upcoming fights, If Robbie Lawler can defeat Jake Ellenberger and retain his #1 contender status that would great for him, and keeps his status safe as well for Ellenberger if he can defeat Lawler that would catapult him up the Rankings at 170lbs. Its very safe to say that both parties want to avoid having their 2nd losses in a row and move up the ladders rather than go down.
