Luke Rockhold broke his toe during UFC 172 win over Tim Boetsch

Joshua S. Kelly-USA TODAY Sports

UFC middleweight competitor Luke Rockhold revealed in his post-fight interview that he broke his toe during his feature fight against Tim Boetsch.

Luke Rockhold may have earned a dominant victory at UFC 172 but he certainly didn't come out of it unscathed.

The former Strikeforce middleweight champion revealed in his post-fight interview with Joe Rogan that he believes his toe is "pretty messed up" but was still overjoyed with his impressive performance.

"I felt my toe pop out early. Its not quite Jon Jones, but its still pretty messed up," Rockhold said in his post-fight interview. "That reverse triangle, that's my bread and butter. I come with different angles. That's like second nature for me. I always go for that Kimura finish."

Luke dominated Boetsch throughout their short encounter, as he quickly locked on a reverse triangle before isolating Tim's arm and finishing his with a slick Kimura.

Rockhold is now 2-1 under the UFC banner, with two consecutive first-round stoppages since the start of 2014. Following his win on Saturday night, he made his intentions clear: he wants a rematch against Vitor Belfort, or a marquee match-up against Michael Bisping.

It will be interesting to see if Rockhold gets either of those two fights.
