Tweet of the day: Bisping and Rockhold trade barbs

Jon Kopaloff

Luke Rockhold may be only days from facing Tim Boetsch at UFC 172, but today he's fending off Michael Bisping's jabs on Twitter.

Michael Bisping is looking for another fight and he appears to be looking to get one quickly. Less than a week removed from his loss to Tim Kennedy, Bisping has already taken to twitter to respond to Brad Tavares' fight request (following Tavares' demolishing at the hands of Yoel Romero) and now is campaigning to fight Luke Rockhold, himself only days away from facing Tim Boetsch. Before his latest lost, the middleweight was knee deep in men asking for a crack at the longtime top 10 vet. Following a loss, it appears to be Bisping that's doing the chasing.

I can see the track Bisping is on, hoping to get another quick fight with a relevant name opponent and shake off the aura of his recent poor showing, but it feels like Rockhold is at a different point in the division right now. His first offer to take on Brad Tavares or, to throw another name into the hat, possibly fighting Tim Boetsch if he should lose to Rockhold, seem like more appropriate fights for a man who no longer has a win over a single active UFC competitor.
