When we last left the Iceman, he stood in the middle of the Octagon. A look of both disgust, and disbelief draped across his face. Chuck was just handed his first pro MMA loss, as Jeremy Horn choked him the fuck out. Chuck's next fight would be outside the eight sided cage, and into what looks like the basement of a bar. A definite step down from the UFC, but Liddell didn't seem to mind.
Neutral Grounds 11 took place on March 31, 1999. The only information I've really found about the venue is that it took place in Los Angeles, CA. It's poorly lit, and the canvas looks like a magnum condom on a midget. Remember this was in 1999, and it wasn't easy for a promotion to put on a show. It was also a hell of a lot harder to find a legit fight. You had to take what you could get.
Chuck faced a man named Kennith Williams. This was Williams first pro MMA fight, not much information on him. The Iceman appeared to have one thing on his mind for this fight. Choke, choke, choke that mother fucker! I can only assume that the loss to Horn had something to do with that. This had to be fresh in his mind, as it had just happened on March 5. Less than a month ago.
There isn't anything pretty with the camera work, but the Iceman had his moments. I Still chuckle when I see kicks with shoes on. Liddell would end up getting what he was looking for. He sunk in a standing rear naked choke, after a barrage of kicks. Chuck earned his third MMA win, and his first of many finishes to come. Check out the full fight here. (Liddell's match starts at the 2:00 mark).
