Another two fighters on a streak of poor performances appear to have been given their walking papers from the UFC. Nothing is set in stone, but these types of moves are usually only indicative of one thing. In the mean time, UFCFIGHTERSiNFO has posted that three names have been deleted from the UFC's roster of active fighters.
They use a ruby script to scrape the website for backend changes, so while not all of this may be immediately apparent to you as a user, these fighters should drop from the website within the next couple of days.
Jake Shield's release isn't news at this point. He issued a public statement following his cut, after dropping a unanimous decision to Hector Lombard. For our part, Bloody Elbow has received some secondary confirmation on Bubba McDaniels' UFC release, so that doesn't come as much of a surprise. And, given his position as a TUF fighter and two relatively uninspired losses, it's not a shock to see him being let go.
That only leaves Renee Forte, also a TUF talent, from the inaugural Ultimate Fighter Brazil season. I had some decently high hopes for Forte after his win over Terry Etim, but a bad showing against John Makdessi and an appalling performance against Frank Trevino have taken all the bloom off that rose. He's still fairly young, and not terribly experienced, so I could see some regional success bringing him back for a short notice fight on a future Brazilian card.
That's all the roster movement news for now, but be sure to stay tuned as there's almost always a new fighter coming or going through the doors of Zuffa these days.
