Pride veteran Alexander Emelianeko (23-7, 6-2 Pride) is in trouble with the Russian authorities again according to a report from RIA Novosti:
Russian authorities have put renowned Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fighter Aleksander Emelianenko on a wanted list on suspicion of housekeeper abuse and passport theft, investigators said Wednesday.
Vladimir Markin, a spokesperson for the country's Investigative Committee said that Emelianenko had been put on the federal wanted list as "he disappeared and did not appear for questioning at the scheduled time," adding that charges were forthcoming.
This isn't Emelianenko's first time in trouble with the law. He was fined for "hooliganism" in early 2013 for an altercation on an airplane. Only a couple of months later he was detained by police after a brawl in a Moscow cafe. Emelianenko is unable to fight in the U.S. following what was rumored to be a positive test result for Hepatitis B.
That hasn't stopped him from keeping a busy fight schedule in Russia in recent years. He fought twice in 2013 and already has fought once this year.
