In the top two fights of the preliminary card, Nurmagomedov and Alves put on dominant performances.

Prior to the main card on network television, UFC on FOX 11 featured nine fights on the preliminary card. UFC Fight Pass hosted three fights on the non-televised online broadcast followed by six fights shown on FS1.

A clash of top 10 Lightweights topped the prelims as Khabib Nurmagomedov outworked and outclassed Rafael dos Anjos. Nurmagomedov took over even more in the final two rounds as he repeatedly while mixing in solid blows on the feet.

After two years on the shelf, Welterweight Thiago Alves returned to the UFC in style against Seth Baczynski. Throughout their three-round fight Alves proved that he's still a UFC-caliber fighter. Once he figured out Seth's range after the opening minutes of the first round, Alves was able to get inside and land punishing strikes inside. He had no trouble throughout the fight shrugging off each of Baczynski's takedown attempts as he worked his way to a 30-27 unanimous decision on all three judges' cards.

Jorge Masvidal scored a unanimous decision victory to bring Pat Healy to a disappointing 0-3, 1 NC record inside the Octagon.

Caio Magalhaes scored a first round TKO victory of his own over Luke Zachrich.

Jordan Mein got the nod in a split decision win over Hernani Perpetuo.

Dustin Ortiz won a split decision over Ray Borg.

In a rare majority decision, Mirsad Bektic beat out Chas Skelly.

Derrick Lewis scored a TKO over Jack May late in the first round of the opening fight.
