The TUF Nations Finale took place on Wednesday in Quebec City and featured a variety of exciting fights, as Ryan Jimmo, Dustin Poirier and KJ Noons all got excellent wins over the course of the evening.
KJ Noons picked up arguably the biggest win of his UFC career when he KOed Canadian lightweight Sam Stout early in the opening round. The knockout was so spectacular, Stout would later attempt to grapple with the referee before tumbling over and realizing the fight had already been stopped. Apart from scoring a much-needed win, Noons also pocketed one of the two ‘Performance of the Night' bonuses.
Canadian light-heavyweight Ryan Jimmo earned another first round knockout on Canadian soil, as he defeated Sean O'Connell with a vicious right and follow up punches on the ground. Jimmo now moves to 3-2 in his UFC run and also secured the second 'Performance of the Night' bonus.
The ‘Fight of the Night' was awarded to Dustin Poirier and Akira Corassani, who fought for a little over five minutes in a frantic battle which saw both men have opportunities to finish the fight. After a slight stumble in the opening round, Poirier pushed the pace early in the second round, landed a flush uppercut and a left hook to the body, which downed Corassani and forced referee Dan Miragliotta to step in and stop the fight.
