The win landed him a "Performance of the Night" bonus, which marked his sixth bonus in the UFC.
The co-main event between Clay Guida and Tatsuya Kawajiri was awarded ‘Fight of the Night,' as both fighters putting on a show for the crowd in Abu Dhabi. The fight, although mostly dominated by "The Carpenter," was an entertaining affair, with some fun striking and grappling mixed in.

Although he appeared to be overexcited in the opening minutes of the fight, he eventually settled down and landed a fantastic punch to send Dariush tumbling to the ground. This was followed up by some brutal ground-and-pound which lasted until the referee mercifully stopped the contest.
