With challengers in short supply, TMZ is looking to help Ronda Rousey line up her next fight with a list of potential opponents. Most importantly, Ronda talked about the potential of fighting Cris Cyborg, in the wake of recent quotes from Cyborg that Rousey was "running" from her. Rousey was quick to restate her position in the MMA landscape and point out that Cyborg isn't on the same run of dominance she once was.
I think she almost got... No, she got dropped, like, five times in her last fight, by some chick that I never heard of before. By the way, that chick was a G. That was pretty cool. But yeah, I'm the one with the belt and I'm not going anywhere and she was the one that asked to be released from the UFC, like 24 hours after they announced out of competition drug testing. So, I don't know who's running from who in this scenario, but she knows where I'm at. So, I'm not going anywhere.
She also had a pretty straightforward answer when asked if there were any men on the UFC roster she'd like to get in the cage with.
Everyone knows it's Bryan Caraway.
And finally, in the story that never quite seems to die, TMZ asked for Rousey's thoughts on potentially fighting Fallon Fox.
I would, but I don't know... I think that getting gender re-assignment post puberty is not as equalizing as it would by, like, you know, someone was on normal suppressant drugs and ended up doing it later when they got older. It's such a subject that no one's really researched enough before that you can't really say that, you've already grown up with the bone structure of a man that it wouldn't be at an advantage. It is an advantage if it's later in life.
So, I really researched the subject a lot and I really think that if you're identified as being a woman identified man when you're like a kid and then being on hormone suppressants and then later, when you're older, changing over. I think that's much more understandable than someone like Fallon who already went through puberty as a man and then changed afterward.
Safe to say, there's very little chance of any of these fights getting made in the near future, save Cyborg, who will have to do quite a lot of fence mending to get a crack at the belt.
