In the third event to be aired exclusively on Fight Pass, a light heavyweight scrap capped off UFC Fight Night Gustafsson vs. Manuwa. In the second round of the headliner, Alexander Gustafsson took out Jimi Manuwa with a violent combination followed by ground strikes. After securing his TKO victory at 1:18 of round 2, Gustafsson took the mic from interviewer Dan Hardy and called out 205 lb. champion Jon Jones.
In his last UFC contest, "The Mauler" took "Bones" to a controversial split decision. Jones got the nod at UFC 165, handing Gustafsson his second loss inside the Octagon. At the post-fight press conference, UFC president Dana White confirmed that Gus will get his rematch if Jones is able to beat Glover Teixeira at UFC 172 in April.
Prior to tonight, Manuwa was undefeated throughout his MMA career and on a three fight winning streak as a UFC fighter. Most recently, a freak injury to Ryan Jimmo ended their fight last October.
UFN Gustafsson vs. Manuwa took place inside the O2 Arena in London, England.
