Hackleman has a theory for why the fans don't love Jon Jones like they loved Chuck Liddell

Joe Camporeale-USA TODAY Sports

John Hackleman, coach for the UFC's #1 Light Heavyweight contender Glover Teixeira, has a theory that may explain why current LHW champ Jon Jones hasn't been embraced by fans like Chuck Liddell was.

John Hackleman is the head coach of Glover Teixeira who's challenging Jon Jones for the UFC Light Heavyweight title at UFC 172 on April 26 in Baltimore, Maryland. Hackleman is best known for coaching UFC Hall of Famer and long-time UFC LHW champ Chuck Liddell.

He was recently a guest on Submission Radio and was asked about Jon Jones "overlooking" Glover Teixeira. Here's what he said (transcribed by MMA.tv):

"I don't really pay attention to who's overlooking who, but if he's doing that, that's kind of rude and kind of a slap in the face to Glover and it's pretty disrespectful and if he is really doing that," said Hackleman. "If the fans are doing that then whatever, that's fans, but if Jon Jones is really doing that which I don't think he really is then to me that's just disrespectful and rude and that's maybe why, you know, people don't love him like they did Chuck."

What do you think? Is Jones' attitude the reason he's not beloved like Chuck was back in the day?
