UFC 173: Barao vs. Dillashaw fight card

Joe Camporeale-USA TODAY Sports

Check out the new-look UFC 173 card, scheduled for May 24th in Las Vegas.

UFC 173 sure looks a lot different than it did a couple of weeks ago. UFC middleweight champion Chris Weidman was forced off the card with a knee injury and his bout with Lyoto Machida was moved back to July, so the promotion was forced to scramble to fill the void. What they came up with was a bantamweight title fight and an exciting welterweight bout.

With top contender Junior Assuncao currently nursing a rib injury, champion Renan Barao will instead defend his title against Team Alpha Male's T.J. Dillashaw in the main event. The co-main is a big heavyweight battle between Junior dos Santos and Stipe Miocic, while the middle of the main card will be anchored by a bout between Robbie Lawler and Jake Ellenberger. Francisco Rivera will step into Dillashaw's place in a bout against Takeya Mizugaki that should be on the main card as well.

The layout of the card hasn't been decided upon as of yet, but here's a look at what is booked for the Mandalay Bay Events Center:

Renan Barao vs. T.J. Dillashaw
Junior dos Santos vs. Stipe Miocic
Jake Ellenberger vs. Robbie Lawler
Takeya Mizugaki vs. Francisco Rivera
Tony Ferguson vs. Katsunori Kikuno
James Krause vs. Jamie Varner
Chris Holdsworth vs. Kyung Ho Kang
Mitch Clarke vs. Al Iaquinta
Michael Chiesa vs. Francisco Trinaldo
Anthony Njokuani vs. Vinc Pichel
Yves Edwards vs. Piotr Hallmann
Doo Ho Choi vs. Sam Sicilia
Jingliang Li vs. Danny Mitchell
