Anderson Silva might be out of the Octagon for a while after snapping his leg against Chris Weidman at UFC 168 late last year, but he's not letting that slow down his opining on the sport. Here's what he had to say to Combate (via Low Kick) about Ronda Rousey and Cris Cyborg:
"I believe this fight needs to happen. Ronda is a great fighter. But Cris has 90-percent chance of winning. She trains hard and has all the features and appropriate techniques to win. This fight needs to happen, because Dana White owes it to the audience; the UFC."
Think this fight will ever get made?
Cyborg and then-manager Tito Ortiz made her case much harder when she asked to be released from her contract with the UFC, apparently under the mis-apprehension that she had a great deal of leverage and could get a fight with Rousey under her own terms and at the weight (145lbs) which is most comfortable for her.
We know that ain't happening and now Cyborg is attempting to cut her way down to 135 pounds and may still eventually have a path to a shot at Rousey.
